I follow them to follow them. I read articles, anticipate the draft, speculate about lineup changes and trades. Watch the occasional regular-season game. And get pumped up for playoff rounds when they happen. That’s about it. I also follow the rest of the league, have a few teams I keep tabs on. I just find it interesting.
Maybe I am a bandwagon fan now (though I think being a fan since ‘84 should bank some credit). A couple years ago I decided I was going to be a Man City fan because they’re a great team with great players. Am I as invested in them as a lifelong fan? No. But it was still fun to watch them win the triple this year.
I guess I just don’t take sports all that seriously anymore.
