They handed out 6 I believe regular Taxi Plate Licences last year (100 accessible TPL), the cost without your own plate is disgusting, the rent alone per week is $350-$400 and that doesn't even include fuel cost, so if a cab driver works 7 days a week and on average makes around $150 per day that leaves you with $650 and then take out fuel cost and you're left with basically nothing. The guys/girls who are lucky enough to get a TPL (accessible/regular) turn around and sell theirs, lease them or dont use them.

Maybe if the rent wasn't nearly half of what you make people might want to drive a cab, seriously they only have themselves to blame.
