Because the people that own the team don't want to tear it down. If the wish of ownership is to ice a competitive team that (hopefully) makes the playoffs that's what's going to happen. Doesn't matter what you, me, or CP as collective wants. It just doesn't matter.

Better to review this question after the summer. We have no idea what this team will look like in October yet. No idea what trades will be made, or what they will bring back.
Because it's a game. And last year kinda sucked. New coaching staff, new players, new chemistry, new season. How is it not fun? This is great. We have so much to look forward to over the next few months, I love it.

Sure. To each their own. Not sure how you go about doing that, but I'm just a fan in B.C. who watches them on TV and chats about them with a bunch of strangers on the internet. I really don't have any say. Just going to watch what happens and keep cheering like I have for about 35 years. It's a game.
