Another piece of good news as far as I am concerned. Unless Conroy is some fricken genius that fleeces other teams and puts together a Stanley Cup roster from trades, this all but assures that Calgary will be rebuilding.
Say what you will about rebuilding, but I imagine there will be a lot of draft capital and prospects gained after everything is said and done, and probably a lot more picks than what Calgary had from the Monahan/Gaudreau/Bennett/Tkachuk rebuild.
I deeply believe that the strongest part of the Flames organization is their drafting and development. Many organizations that fail their rebuilds are poorly run organizations with way too many misses. Perfect timing as well, because I do believe this team will be rounding the corner when that new building is finally completed, if not before then.
