One of the reasons why I was in favour of Sutter being hired was either the team was going to take the next step after all sorts of failures with the group that was, or it was going to fall apart and we would have to get new people in.
It is the latter and I'm all the happier for it. This team needs a new era. The last one was a huge disappointment. There are now no expectations on any of the players, just go do what you can do.
The Flames I feel are built similarly to the Dallas Stars as they went through their rebuild. They had two slightly older guys in Benn and Seguin (Kadri and Huberdeau) that helped the younger guys while still being valuable contributors. They already have a lot of good parts upcoming, and will get a bunch more after the trades.
