I think the pitch to ownership is clear and that is to have a highly competitive product for day 1 of the new arena where prices are surely going to spike from ticket cost to concessions. Those price hikes are coming regardless but will be easier to stomach if there is a highly competitive team ready to open that building.
The focus should be an aggressive 4 year turnaround which requires some luck and a lot of draft picks working out. Best way to do it is draft a lot of players this year and next so they are 21-22 by the time the new rink opens. Ownership should definitely consider that compared to trying to win now after the Treebuild ended up in failure.
