Yeah, those two first-rounders are huge for a team that is likely going to be going deep into the tax. They're already well over the tax even before negotiating Grant Williams' new contract, and next year they'll like have Brown on a supermax, and then the year after that a new supermax for Tatum as well. Draft picks are going to be even more valuable for contenders under the new CBA, as they're pretty-much the only way you can add better-than-minimum players to the roster once you're over the second apron.
Really curious about whether they negotiate an extension for Porzingis this summer... I have to think that was at least on the table to get a guy with a long injury history to pass up free agency after a surprisingly healthy season.
With speculation that Brogdon is much more seriously injured (and that being the reason that Clippers backed out), the other option is they could give up those draft picks to ship out Brogdon. Either way, they have some options.
I like it for Memphis too. They need a culture-changer more than they need more late FRPs. That defense is going to be elite.
For Washington... meh. New GMs get the luxury of taking losing deals to give themselves a clean slate, and that's what's going on in Washington right now.
