But let's assess him for what he is: good size, some scoring ability, maybe a 40-50 pt guy for a few years - in other words, a pretty good middle 6 guy. I am no fan of Lafreniere, but as far as trading Toffoli goes, that seems like a pretty decent return. If the expectation is to get a 1st (late) and a medium prospect for Toffoli, having that late 1st turn into Lafreniere would be an excellent result.

Of course, I would have no issue with that trade. I was just pointing out that Lafrieniere isn’t some can’t miss prospect anymore. Regardless, I don’t think that is a trade that would be on the table. You’re probably looking at something based around picks/prospects as opposed to roster players.
