Yep, if there is sufficient evidence, which is to say he doesn't need to show me the 'aliens' for me to believe it. Such a risky political move, including torpedoing careers, administrations and national credibility on the world stage with possible impeachment scenarios if unproven, and also a duty to tell the truth constitutionally, would be enough to give me confidence without having to show me primary evidence - especially if the details continue to be classified and the the public is not privy due to national security concerns (e.g. revealing details might endanger intelligence about reverse engineering programs that could benefit adversaries like China or Russia with their own programs).
In other words, I wouldn't need to see an alien to believe it, just like I wouldn't need to see microbial life under a microscope to believe living organisms or bacterial cultures on Mars if NASA announced it tomorrow. Faith in the credibility of trusted institutions would be sufficient for me.
I put trust in the integrity of professionals to do their jobs properly. But, alas, that is where we differ.
