I don't think it's likely but any deal involving the Avs probably has Girard coming back. It seems like they've been trying to move him for ages.
Newhook is also possibly a preference for them over moving their 1st.

I thought they could activate the LTIR as soon the roster had to be cap compliant but they lose any ability to accrue off that player during the season.
