As a warm blooded animal, it's actually a metabolism thing. Your body adjusts pretty fast to the typical ambient temperature over the past few days and produces excess heat to match that, that's why 10 degrees is T-shirt weather in the spring and winter jacket weather in the fall.
We're coming off a couple weeks approaching 30, so this sucks.
