Just like the offensive shot count has to be looked at sometimes with a critical eye, so does the defensive count.
Obvioulsy he needs to stop some. But if there are 10 in a game and he stops 7 that's still already 3 goals against, plus the PKs etc.
The year before some posters downplayed his shutouts as too easy. But that's the whole thing - goalies numbers can vary wildly because even over a season the difference between great stats and poor ones isn't that huge.
