Huberdeau being on the team is basically the worst case for a rebuild. If he bounces back in a big enough way to get good value then the Flames are closer to the middle of the pack picks rather than high picks and if he continues to perform poorly then they are stuck with a huge chunk of cap that can be utilized better.

I think we can go into a season with Huberdeau on the books, but the combo of him, Kadri, Coleman and Markstrom is a lot to be carrying. If I had a choice who to get rid of it would be Kadri because of that length. Markstrom close second. Both guys will never live up to that contract long term (and in Markstrom's case, short term). Huberdeau I can sort of live with but the high price of four is tough, I think even the most optimist can agree on that!
