According to Wikipedia, Calgary has a Dwb climate and Moscow has a Dfb on the Köppen climate classification:

It looks like the only difference between them is Calgary has a dry winter and Moscow has no dry season. Calgary's temperature is slightly lower on average, but not significantly. Also, we get Chinooks and they don't, so our record highs during the winter are much higher than Moscow's.
