For Poirier I think it probably depends on how you want him to develop at this point.
Do you:
A) Keep him in the AHL on the top pair and play him against top competition to try to improve his overall play defensively?
or
B) Bring him up to the NHL and play him in a more sheltered 3rd pairing role with offensive minutes and PP time potentially...and try to work on his defensive game at the NHL level.
I don't know what the answer is but feel like those are the two options.
