The fact that he's young, coupled with a bad UFA crop this year, I'm optimistic we can get quite a lot for him. This will be Connie's first big move, so I hope he gets us something good.

It's defintely less of a blow buts it's still a big blow.
Defence is pretty thin after weegar and rasmus.
Kylington is a wildcard. Year off after his one good season.
Tanev probably isn't long for being a top 4D given his age and injuries.
Flames don't have anyone in the pipeline close to stepping up as a top 4 D. Poirier, solovyov and kuznetsov seem a couple years away.
