There are two kinds of QB's that have historically had success in the CFL: (i) run/pass guys who can beat you through the air and on the ground, and (ii) accurate pocket passers who can stretch the field with the arm.
The guys in category one are now finding opportunities in the NFL, meaning we have some athletic guys but they aren't great passers. The guys in category two are harder to find now because colleges are all running variations of the spread and don't have to beat you downfield.
During my lifetime it's been:
Ham
Dunigan
Allen
Flutie
McManus
Garcia
Calvillo
Burris
Ray
Glenn
Mitchell
Reilly
Collaros
?
Our best talent in the past several years (Rourke) just left for the NFL. Adams Jr, Harris, Masoli, Fajardo etc are tier 2 at best. They're hyping up Chad Kelly and I hope he does well but I'm not holding my breath.
