What worked for SNW as a series so far is its like the Original Series in that each episode was stand alone. There wasn't really an ongoing war to focus on, or a back story happening.


I wonder if they're going away from that with a potential war with the Gorn, and Pike's fight with StarFleet over his first officer.

I'm OK with some underlying events progressing (sort of like DS9) but agree that the standalone episodes are a big strength of SNW. It seems every show these days is about a big story dragged out over 10-12 episodes, it's refreshing to watch concise and well-paced shows.
