This isn't a political party situation though. The private sector makes business decision regarding expansion, employee headcount and more all the time.

The issue we have is that when government's allowed the spectrum, the airwaves, the fiber optics and all the other media and telecommunication infrastructure to be built over the year's, it was done under the condition that companies provide what is considered an essential service to the public. Radio, tv, news, media, internet, phone service, wireless service etc.

If we look at these telecom's and they look at the independent media as just a line of business to continue to shrink, than nobody benefits.

We need a strong independent media asking tough questions and keeping people in line. In other countries they protest, burn things down, try and deal with corruption in other way like kidnapping people in power and more. We need to have a voice for the people or else the power brokers just take over and nobody wants that.
