It definitely screamed a guy that wasn't actually that ticked off but realized he needed to do something because they were in a rut and people were watching with expectations ... so he proceeds to fling a stick into the stands awkwardly.

It was awkward because it wasn't authentic.

Some guys come from the school of the McDavid "let's go" and force what they cognitively recognize is probably expected of them, but do it without real emotion behind it.

Huska appears to have the pulse of these players because he was one for a while and wears his emotions on his sleeve in a controlled manner that also isn't forced or manufactured. You can tell already why the respect level would be higher for him in the room than a guy like Gulutzan (as decent and well-meaning as he might have been).
