Everyone pretty much is in a cap crunch, and getting a player in this draft that can possibly play this year or even next year may be too hard to pass up on.
But like with all things, time will tell.

The three biggest trade chips will go at the draft. The rest they'll have to dance a little in terms of offseason trades or deadline decisions.
I can't see Conny not capitalizing on this very deep draft if he has to move any of Toffoli, Lindholm or Hanifin. He's a draft nerd. I believe he knows this is likely the best time to maximize asset management.
