Looking over team rosters, there really aren’t a lot of teams in win now mode who need a #1-2 LD.
The Kings just signed Gavrikov and extended Mikey Anderson. Can’t see them pushing either of those guys to the 3rd pairing.
The Pens are woeful at LD, but all of their decent players have NTCs, they’re up agains the cap, and they have nothing in the prospects cupboard to offer.
One dark horse possibility is Washington. They’re desperately thin at LD, and they have some cap space opening up. They’re not rebuilding (still trying to win with OV), but they have the #8 overall pick. I wonder if they’d be willing to part with it to go for one more big push. A fly in the ointment is the possibility Michkov might still be available at their pick.
