I’m happy either way. He’s a great top pairing player who would be great to have for the remainder of his career. He’s also an incredible trade chip due to us already having a reasonably solid and young top 4 without him, and extending him will have serious cap implications due to other contracts already on the books. He’s the best D on the team in my opinion, but we’ve taken so many asset blows in recent years that it would be a smart move to capitalize on the opportunity.
