Teams won't trade a proven young player or one that looks this promising this early.
Fans live in this unrealistic fantasy world where you have to win every deal. That's never going to happen. But teams who exhibit consistent behaviors to get those magic beans and focus on getting value out of them should come out ahead. Problem is that the Flames have not been consistent in this approach. Cliff Fletcher used to move out older vets for picks for years and often turned it into another good player. But that's getting to be 32 years ago now.
