If defense was Huska's main responsibility for this team over his 5 years as an assistant coach then I understand why they'd want to keep him.
Over that time:
Goals Against Per Game: 8th
Penalty Kill: 6th
And outside of 21-22 they had average or below average goaltending that entire time
I do hope Love was willing to take an assistant role though.
