Have you seen this roster? A collection of journeymen and good but not great players that is poorly balanced.
We need a guy that can get a team to be greater than the sum of its parts. That's the reality of the situation.
I think with Wolf entering the fold in the coming years, Love was the right decision. He also has familiarity with most of the prominent young prospects who will be graduating. He's had success with that group, so he's proven first hand that he can get the most out of the guys in the Flames system.
I don't know how Ryan exceeds a choice that made too much logical sense, with a winning track record.
