Guys, we know what a pending FA having a career season during a UFA contract year is going to go for. It does not include a top rated prospect, a producing, young, cheap NHL calibre player and a possible lottery pick. Lindholm is a wonderful player. He is going to get a fantastic return. He is not going to give the Flames a rapid influx of highly talented young players.
A GM saying yes to the deals people have been proposing in here for the last three months would be making their teams moderately better now to be infinitely worse in the future. It's just not going to happen. There are not that many Chiarellis in the world.

Theres a very clear recent comparable and that's Horvat. Lindholm is typically considered the better player.
Horvat went for 2023 1st(17th oa) + beauvillier + raty.
I think it's fair to assume lindholm would receive a similar package.
A 2024 1st+ sillinger + peeke/bean/texier/whatever young roster player is a perfectly realistic return.
