The thing I find weird is that one of the houses down the block has audio of what sounded like a sonic boom and crash at the same time that the police car dash cam sees a green fire ball in the sky. It seems that something did crash, or there are a lot of other people in on the hoax. The aliens call came in just a couple of minutes after the fireball was spotted, which wouldn't give people a lot of time to come up with a story if there was just a random chance crash nearby. If the crash part is a hoax as well, that is really well done.

So something 'crashes' in a family's backyard, and the only imprint it makes is a perfect circle in soft sand with no signs of violent impact? And no alien footprints in same sand?
