I am not saying it is one or the other, however, from my observations players development comes on opportunities they are given. Lots of times a player is held back so never develops. Other times they are thrust in the spotlight and excel.
A coach/organization can really derail someone's career in professional sports. It would be pretty crazy to think that the Oilers organization didn't ruin several top prospects careers. It's very possible Huska derailed a few careers, but I will be honest I didn't follow the heat much when he was the coach of the Heat.
