I couldn't see trading Huberdeau after one season having much of an effect on being able to sign future players. If anything, a future player would look at it and think, hey, if it's not working, at least they aren't afraid to move players. Neal was traded after one season and I doubt it had any effect.
Honestly, no team is going to take on his contract anyway, so it's probably a worthless discussion. But if there is a chance to trade him and you don't, you better be really sure he is going to rebound. It's an $84 million bet I wouldn't make personally.
