I guess that depends where you stand on forgiveness as a whole and that's where society comes in. I'm not part of that community but am a minority. If someone tweeted the same thing about minorities, sure it'd be offensive. And sure it technically could give ammo for others to think the same and do harmful things, but if he was sorry, and wanted to make amends, and was in the same position to kick off some event, I wouldn't be angry about it. Now if this was a person with a terrible track record and they were doing it for show but goes back to doing it it would reflect back on them. It's where you are on the spectrum of forgiveness, and I have no problem with it if the Jays feel he's sincere. Sorry for getting worked up myself.
