2006 being the year Lowe and McTavish has big successes in the front office, 1990 being the last year to their oilers team reached the finals.
Obviously not claiming success for 2024 yet. But best case scenario Iggy and Conroy are further separated from being Flames heros than the Edmonton old boys club was at the time.

Now go cry because you are old.

Edit: also Lowe and McT were both the head coach of the Oilers within 4 years of their last game. All of our old boys club have been retired for 7+ years.
Measuring back to the last year of "success" seems less important than the last year they played for the team or the NHL in terms of "old boy". Lowe retired in 1998 after playing his last two seasons with the Oilers, and was immediately AC in Edmonton, and was suddenly head coach in 1999, and GM in 2000. Mactavish retired at the end of 1996-97 and then suddenly head coach of Edmonton in 2000, hired by, surprise, Lowe. Then he gets fired in 2009 but hired as GM in 2013. Idiocy.
