I know a lot of people will compare this to the old boys club in Edmonton, and there is some similarities but I also think this is significantly different. Guys like Conroy, Iggy and Tangs seem much more progressive and new age compared to Lowe and McTavish etc. They understand the need for a youth injection and the importance of drafting and developing from within. Conroy seemed adamant to give guys on the farm a chance before going out and filling holes with vets. Seems like a philosophical change and hope they are sincere about this approach. I don’t mind rewarding former players with positions in the organization as this group seems to understand the right path forward and are high quality individuals.
