2.64 goals per game in round 2 (Toronto allowed 2.6 goals against per game in the regular season) and 2.5 goals per game in round 3 (Carolina allowed 2.52 GA/60 in the regular season) isn't that impressive.
So Florida scored at the same rate against those teams in the playoffs as teams did in the regular season - when they were top 4 defensive teams.
The reason they won those series though is because they gave up 1.88 Goals against per 60 on an expected goals against of 3.35 per 60 against Toronto.
And they allowed 1.12 goals against per 60 on an expected goals against per 60 of 3.53 against Carolina.
They got timely goals...but their overall goalscoring was actually pretty poor in round 2 and 3. They won because their goalie was outperforming expected goals against by about 2 goals per game.

Yes, I'd agree with this. The Leafs and Hurricanes outplayed them in my opinion. So are the Knights, now, but they're getting goals that those teams didn't.
