There was gravel two weeks ago when we went. Bit uncomfortable on the way down but not a major problem.
No snow unless you count a few minutes of hail at the top.

I absolutely love the bow valley parkway ride, but that is a terrific ride even with traffic on it, and is good all summer.
The Highwood road is in much worse shape and isn’t as good to ride when traffic is on it, so I like to get out on that while it’s closed and otherwise won’t be on it again this year. But both are amazing rides.

Would be so nice if they permanently closed a lane of Bow Valley Parkway to vehicles and made it a one way. Love that you see all types out there with families, rental e-bikes, not just the hardcore MAMILs.
