I don't get this ugly as hell comment. I had the option of an older wedge-super thin Macbook Air and the M1 Pro.
I choose the M1 because it's a thick beauty that actually includes connectivity that a power user needs. Magsafe, SD card slots, and even a damn HDMI port. Apple not requiring you to be a dongle-master is one reason why I seriously considered dipping my toes into MacOS in the first place because they don't seem like toys that just make you look good at the coffee shop anymore.
