Ownership wants to win now, and Gallant has proven himself everywhere he's been that he gets teams competitive in year 1, right away. For this reason, he'll be the leading candidate IMO. The key factor will be what Huberdeau thinks about him, and I'm certain Conroy will ask him. I also don't think Conroy will bring someone on that Huberdeau isn't supportive of. I also don't think Huberdeau necessarily cares to have a player's coach, I think he cares more about the coach's style, especially offensively.
