Does this ever happen anywhere though? I see this sentiment in this thread numerous times, reality is, once the head coach is fired, the assistants usually go with them. Everyone was excited that Muller and Huska were part of the coaching staff when Sutter was hired, assuming one of them would take the helm once Sutter was finished here. Fast forward 2 years and those two probably are gone fairly shortly to make room for a fresh coaching staff.
If Love is brought on as an assistant, he'll definitely learn under the more experienced head coach. He might also become a head coach at some point, but probably not with the Flames.
