I'm not in the O/G sector myself, but have taken on a few as clients. Suncor seemed to be most bloated, bureaucratic, and inefficiently run out of all of the ones I've worked with. Convenient timing this massive layoff is announced only days after the provincial election? Seems like a fairly nice hold until the powers at be were done benefiting.
Had the NDP won we'd already being hearing the narrative about how they are bad for jobs etc. UCP government hangs onto power and crickets.
