Recently I laid off the company I was working for. More than one individual crossed my boundaries, threw me under some buses, and then expected me to agree it was ok. Far far too much stress and impact to mental health which nobody needs. Company was great with lots of awesome folks otherwise. Thankfully a quick exit strategy was self-initiated and able to pursue readily available options. In some ways it's easier to go on your terms versus getting laid off. In some ways having the bandaid ripped off is also easier. Said based upon my own experiences during my career where I've experienced both several times.
