People talk about Gallant wearing out his welcome but did he really in New York? They had a pretty great regular season and the Devils series could have gone either way. Their owner is a bit of a nutcase and I'd say that was more the reason for the change there.
The bigger question with him is if you want structure or not. Gallant really just lets the players play. That seems to often have success early on. The other question is, do the Flames have a window right now or not? If you think they do, he could probably get the most out of it for the next 2-3 years.

I thought I read that part of New York's decision to part ways with Gallant was the exit interviews from the players.
