Bingo. That's why I don't work in O+G. I love and support the industry wholeheartedly, but man is it vicious and cutthroat when it comes to ebbs and flows within it. I work in an industry that has tentacles outside of Alberta (and one that is super fun to work in on a daily basis too), so when the economy goes to #### in this city, I can still work on projects outside of the province. There's a piece of mind involved with it too, even at the sacrifice of higher compensation.
