It’s not that it’s not coming from the right place or the right reasons, but there’s likely a lot of shame in a situation like this. I don’t have a solution to offer, but like I say, I’d just be really careful about how to handle it.

I know. Should probably mind my own business. I'm sure everyone I know could give me all sorts of tips and tricks, too. I will say this isn't a friend, per se. It's actually somebody I work with and I'd like to help them. I think I'll just sit on this, but I think this problem is getting worse quickly to the point where it can't be ignored and I guess that'll have to be my time to offer help.
