I think there are some similarities with the Jays with their Catcher situation last year, and our goaltender situation this year. To me, I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't think Markstrom bounces back. But it seems the Jays are fully intent on seeing if he can regain any form. To me he's the equivalent of Janssen last year. Then you have Vladar who some see as starter potential but to me has upside of a capable backup. Wolf has earned a callup and should be the future but deserves some amount of games to see what his NHL potential is.


Anyway, I know it's not ideal, but I really think the Flames should keep all three. I mean, if it were me I'd look to get out of Markstrom's deal through a trade, but let's assume that can't happen, I'd keep all. Simply put if you deal Vladar you're assuming Wolf is the backup. If Markstrom is crap (which I think there's a high chance of), Wolf automatically has to take the reins. That's too much pressure on him to be thrown into the fire. I'd just go with Markstrom/Vladar, with the occasional callup for Wolf. I really wanna see the guy succeed and put in the right position to build his confidence.
