I could see it as well. The Leafs aren't screwed yet IMO.
Murray buyout would save them about $4 mil on the cap.
14 guys and $13 mil cap to spend.
If they worked on a Hanifin for Nylander deal I would assume we should get the + back. Not sure I'd include Dube but maybe a Ruzicka? I'd also target the bruins 1st.
From the leafs perspective if they made a deal like that they would have 15 guys signed and about $14 mil cap. The Leafs could add another dman with that type of cap space. Like us though lots revolves around if players want to stay. I get Matthews will want $14 mil or so but he already makes almost $12. It's not like he's getting a $5 mil a year raise like Lindholm could get.
