That's also typically what I do as well, using a 7 iron. But sometimes I need to get over a bunker, or water, or have very little green to work with etc. Just seems all the guys in my mens league matches are amazing from 80 yards in.

So I typically will try and leave myself 100-120 yards as opposed to any closer lol.
