Well, let's hope in the interview process that Conroy can get out of Gallant the reason(s) why he's been let go after only a couple of seasons in each NHL club he's been with.
I think Gallant is a not only a good coach, but a great one with fantastic results. But we are looking for a coach that can coach in Calgary for longer than 2 seasons. I hope Conroy emphasizes that in every interview. Calgary has had good coaching hires in the past (aside from GG and Ward). All of them have had shelf lives though. We really need one that understands the importance of a good mix of youth and veterans, as well as adapting to the modern-NHL. Is Gallant that guy? Perhaps. I don't like his resume with the continuous firiings though.
