At least Shandro wasn't elected, I couldn't vote for him in this election.
At the end of the day, the polls never got it right.
while the UCP looks like they're going to lose about 11 seats, but its still a hefty mandate. Its probably the end of Rachel Notley, she had a lot of momentum and really lost it through the election. I don't really think she ran a terrific campaign, none of them did. This was a election based around negativity.
I'm interested in voter turnout, I was surprised today, when I went to vote, it was empty.
The UCP was fairly far ahead on popular vote, and still look to get a big majority.
I think part of it is this. In the last week of so of the election, they bought in Nenshi who went full negative, they bought in Lukasik (sp) and other former Redford Cons who went full negative, and they might have turned off voters.
The NDP can take some comfort in gaining some seats in Calgary, and there are some UCP cabinet members that aren't going back to Edmonton which is a good thing.
But this has to be disappointing for the NDP. I don't know how this province can be bought back together.
