If I was McDavid I would point out that in the last two playoffs he seriously ran out of gas because they overplayed him in the regular season.

Right now the best player in the playoffs is MT and its not close. It hurts as a sorta flames fan, but it is what it is.

On an added note, next year is the window, that's it. If it doesn't go well, and I don't think they can make the significant structural changes that they need to in goaltending and defense and forward quality, without dumping a monster salary, they have to make decisions on the apocalypse.

I don't care what anyone says BTW, Bouchard for all of his gaudy power play points was a tire fire 5v5 and is going to need to be sheltered. Nurse is a overpayed massively pile of poop. They don't have the goaltending, we saw that when the stakes were high and Skinner fell apart behind weak 5v5 play.

Even their coach the wonder boy Puglsey Adams was badly outcoached in the playoffs, and he's too arrogant and stupid to change from the play the wonder twins 50% of the time and not install a playable defensive system.

The Flames are a trainwreck they are. But McDavid and Draisaitl disguise how truly bad that Oilers team is build wise.
Incorrect, the Oilers window was this past season. Bouchard is going to get paid and eat all their cap space. They will be required to make Broberg a full time defenseman and ship out likely Kulak, their defense will be worse this coming year than it was this past year.

They have almost zero cap space to sign anyone over $1MM to fill out the bottom 6. They are going to have to get rid of Yamamoto and/or Ceci but will have to attach significant assets to them to do so (Ceci likely requires a 2nd round pick to take him and Yamamoto will require a 3rd). They are going to rely on Nothing-Happens and Hyman to again have career years which is unlikely to happen. They are banking on a Campbell bounce back with a worse defense core.

Likely to be much worse for the Oilers this year.
