Signing guys in Calgary costs more, its just the reality. The leagues #2 scorer isn't giving Calgary a bargain
I mean Tkachuk wanted to go to Florida and got to pick them a year before UFA, they were obviously getting a bargain, there is no way Calgary gets him for that even if he wanted to stay

It isn’t relevant when you try to move him. It is what it is.
I don’t believe posters are questioning the amount they gave Huberdeau as much as they signed him at all. But many are understanding the difficulty of moving $84MM worth of contract.
